A Legacy Rooted in Passion

Brugge Chocolates was founded in 2010 by Susan Walukiewicz, whose journey with chocolate began as a teenager behind the counter of a small candy shop. After a career at Microsoft, her first love called her back, and she trained under master chocolatiers at the Barry Callebaut Chocolate Academy, where she studied European techniques and flavor philosophies. Her dream was to bring those traditions home to Redmond, creating a shop defined by elegance, authenticity, and joy.

In 2023, a new chapter of the Brugge story began when Clinton Berreth and Brandon Kindle acquired the business—carrying forward Susan’s vision with reverence, innovation, and renewed energy.

A Life Steeped in Chocolate

Clinton’s love for chocolate goes back as far as he can remember. What began as a hobby—making sweets in his spare time during a 15-year career as a registered nurse—evolved into a calling. When the opportunity to pursue chocolate full-time presented itself, Clinton leapt. He worked side by side with Susan for eight months, mastering her recipes and techniques to preserve the quality and spirit of Brugge’s beloved confections.

Today, Clinton leads production with extraordinary attention to detail and a refined palate for flavor and texture. His creations reflect a lifelong fascination with chocolate’s transformative power—simple ingredients becoming something unforgettable through patience, skill, and love.

Brandon Kindle

Vision, Expansion, and the Customer Experience

Brandon Kindle brings to Brugge a deep passion for entrepreneurship and strategic growth. With a keen business sense and a heart for community, Brandon envisions a future where Brugge’s artisan approach reaches beyond Redmond, introducing more people to the magic of handcrafted European chocolate.

He is the architect of Brugge’s expansion into SeaTac Airport, where a wider audience can experience the same warmth, quality, and charm that define the original shop. His approach is rooted in customer connection—ensuring every guest feels welcome, heard, and indulged. Whether at the airport or in Redmond, Brandon's focus is clear: offer not just chocolates, but meaningful moments.

His leadership has refined every touchpoint of the Brugge experience—from the visual merchandising to thoughtful customer service training, to how each product is described and shared. It’s all about creating a chocolate-buying experience that’s as personal and memorable as the confections themselves.

Our small-batch truffles, known for their thin, delicate shells and velvety ganache centers, honor the European tradition of subtlety and sophistication. Favorites like Dark Chocolate and Black Raspberry sit alongside originals like Fig & Brie, Cardamom Pistachio, and Raspberry Balsamic—each one a taste of curiosity and craftsmanship.
